When I was 11 I moved to Asheville, North Carolina. I didn't skate then, I just hung out with my friends and did the middle school thing. Over Christmas break of my 8th grade year, I got my first skateboard. At first, like everyone, I took it as something else to do on the weekends, but it quickly began to consume more and more of my time. These days, its hard for me to think of how I occupied myself before I was a skateboarder.

Asheville is the a perfect place to grow up skateboarding. In saying that, you probably think we're one of those towns with a spot every ten feet, when in fact, in that area, we are kind of scarce. Thats not to say we don't have spots, were just not one of those towns with a plethora of things to skate.
